This thing plays CDs but not DVDs on my Macintosh, even though the box says Macintosh compatible. According to Revain's specs, it works on Macintosh. There is nothing unusual about my car. Also, this unit is known to be unable to play DVDs on Macintosh. It's all over the Macintosh support forums. Apparently everyone knows except the manufacturer and Revain. The manufacturer does not have a help and support website for this product. I was wondering if I need to download a driver but there isn't one. am i angry? yes i am angry Wasted time, frustration and now even more wasted time and frustration you return for a refund. Edit: I got it to work using VLC instead of the native Apple DVD player, but the audio stutters and the eject button doesn't work. It works well. I tried a different data cable. Another edit: to be fair, I attached an external Apple optical drive to this unit. This didn't work either. This is an old Mac Mini. Further research shows that older Macintosh computers do not work well with external optical drives. This is a tricky question and your mileage may vary. I decided to continue using this drive to rip CDs. Might burn out, haven't tried it yet. I'll be playing DVDs on my Xbox or whatever until I get my next Macintosh.
