New installation fits HVAC systems

The undeniable best thing about this fan is that you can fit it into your RV and you don't have to remove all the RV ventilation or disturb your factory roof seal. I installed my Heng's Vortex II in the living room of my motorhome, where no fan was installed. This was very easy as most (if not all) vents come with pre-drilled holes for mounting a fan. I connected the current from the 12-volt network in series to the next light. I have all the LED lights in my RV so they use little power. Before my final fan installation, I turned on every light in my trailer, turned on the fan. I didn't notice the lights dimming, nor did I hear a hum. I've read of some other people resisting the idea of sharing a fan and lights from the same line, but I wasn't sure how to run a separate line for that fan. I can't imagine this fan using that much power. I will keep an eye out for electrical anomalies and may reconsider the leased line issue in the future and will post any updates here. I may be able to find someone in my RV fleet to help me with this (my 2012 Springdale is at a fixed location). Aside from the wiring issues, installation was extremely easy. I have adjusted the original position of the crankset with alternative holes provided by the manufacturer. It was pretty obvious that the crank mechanism on the fan and the crank mechanism on my air outlet would not line up at first. Very easy. I am also positively surprised at how much natural light the fan lets in despite the relatively large plastic housing. My original vent trim ring is back in place as before. The sound isn't as quiet as some of the more expensive fans, but that doesn't bother me. It's CERTAINLY a lot quieter than those junk 4" fans that come standard in rolling bathrooms (I replaced them with a Maxx Air Fan Mate years ago). In fact, the noise level from my Maxx Air and Heng is about the same. As I only installed this on June 13th, 2020 I will report any future issues as they arise.

Pros
  • Fits some Heng exhaust kits
Cons
  • Operating speed
