Well, it started well. Bluetooth connected immediately. Everything worked as expected. The big unforgivable problem that makes me return this item is that it completely removes all bass from your music. When I plug my phone directly into the car's AUX I have the expected amount of bass, when I stream music, same music, through this device and into my car's AUX in Porto all the bass disappears. It doesn't matter if I turn on all the bass in the car or the bass on my phone, there's just no bass through this little device. In the phone's equalizer, no frequency settings below 250 Hz result in NO sound changes. The suggestive device simply doesn't even let through the lower frequencies. Big disappointment. I'm returning it tonight. UPDATE: I got bored after issuing a refund last night, so I decided to tinker with installing the app. After installing the app, I had a hard time connecting it because when I selected "Add a device" I selected the wrong device. I didn't know it was the CHAT version and kept trying to connect the Firefly version. Anyway, once the device connected to the app, it claimed to have completed the update. Then for some reason the sound started sweeping FULL frequency afterwards. The bass I complained about [before it sounded like a cheap radio with tiny 3" speakers and my car usually had a bulky audio system] came through. It sounds great after every app update. When I play the same song from my car stereo's built-in hard drive, it sounds the same as it sounds NOW from my phone, via Bluetooth, via Tunai Firefly chat, and via the car's AUX-IN port. UPDATE 2: Well, it's already in a few days. Coincidentally every time I get in the car and it automatically reconnects it goes back to that THIN BUT BASS sound. I can't do it There doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern for what makes it a thin sound with no bass or a good full sound. VERY frustrating considering it's the most expensive device of its kind on Amazon. Buy one of these for $15. I have to send this one back. I can't afford to train multiple times a day. It experiments with disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth, turning Bluetooth on and off, disconnecting Tunai, reconnecting multiple times, opening an app, experimenting with settings, and trying to figure out how to get BASS back. If the connection is really connected to the bass then it sounds great - the problem is that it is much more often connected to NO-BASS than to the bass. I must recommend staying away from this product. So if you buy one of these and use it without the app, it will work. However, the app doesn't seem to be required at all to get it working. for the Tunai Firefly*chat which I*checked when I first took it out of the box and just plugged it into the car, it "worked" but it sounded TERRIBLE! In earnest. [I'm an audio engineer/producer/mastering engineer in the studio so have experience with sound quality comments]. And something else. When I try out devices, I usually learn and test/experience ALL of their functions to become familiar with them. On MY device, "Ground Up" mode literally does NOT play any music. It's just silence plus a slight hum. To be honest I only bought it for MUSIC so I can't speak to its performance for calls. overpriced. I've owned/used similar devices that had more common features for less than HALF the price. Ps. This unit would be better if it could TRANSMIT incoming bluetooth audio over FM radio (APP controlled) - the cable seems unnecessary with a GOOD FM transmitter. Back to rating with 1 star. Not worth the time, effort or money for such an inconsistent experience.
