I've been watching this for years, I finally pulled the trigger and I'm so glad I did! The material is a very durable canvas. This thing is ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooinginging I stuffed our 3 sleeping bags, folded them in half, turned them over and laid out 3 comfy duvets, extra throw pillows and a couple of guest towels and sheets. I turned it striped side up and it was sleek and very comfortable. The stripes on this vault are great because they hide some of the imperfections of what you put inside. In 15 minutes I had half the closet space and a dresser in the spare room, while also having a comfy chair in our son's playroom. I can just empty it. I shouldn't commit to that. Next summer, when I need to use our camping gear and get my sleeping bags out, I can just empty them! I don't "have to" replace it with anything if I don't want to. Or when we have guests, I just pull out the sheets and pillows. I am very happy with this purchase. love love love!
