Review on πŸ”¦ Genie 2-Button LED Flashlight Garage Door Opener Remote - Control 2 Genie Openers - Includes Flashlight & Lanyard - Model GL2T-R by Rick Kreutzer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The "trigger " control buttons are very sensitive, causing the garage door to move unintentionally.

Well, finally I get it. After years of peacefully triggering and randomly opening/closing this remote, it finally caught me by surprise. Yesterday the remote was unintentionally activated again, this time with the gate of my SUV open while I was unloading groceries in the garage. You guessed it. The back of the top door touched the open tailgate on the way down, leaving some serious scratches on the tailgate before I could press the button on the remote to close it. Most likely several hundred dollars for damage/repair. I wanted to replace this remote but after reading all the sketchy reviews and horror stories about programming and missed the instructions for a newer one. I made an "aftermarket modification" to my existing Genie remote by installing two small thin cardboard "pads" in the remote's housing between the button and the circuit board, which "reinforced" the button actuation mechanism " became. You can disassemble the remote control by opening the battery compartment. No more hair trigger!
