Update 2 years later: 2 stars added again. The second iteration has much better battery life and consumes very little battery. The device opens and closes reliably every time for 2 years. Initial Rating: 2 stars removed due to poor reliability. This is my second (first bought from Home Depot). The first only lasted a few years before the keyboard gave up. I noticed slight differences between the new one and the previous one; I hope kwikset improved the reliability. In terms of performance, I have almost no complaints from members of the community, so this is a good place to start. I've only received complaints when the batteries died and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, this device is really bad at warning about the condition of its batteries.
