Needless to say, being a woodcarver I've accumulated quite a few drills. I chose the Drill Doctor instead of replacing a lot of bits. Honestly? This has to be one of the best "money well spent" I've bought in a while. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and the machine itself is very easy to use, just follow the instructions. I keep it handy and sharpen my tips as I use them (instead of making a bunch in one sitting). I didn't realize how boring a lot of my beats had become, but the vast majority were. I could definitely tell the difference after sharpening the first one and it cut through tough maple with ease. I bought this model because I don't need the capabilities of the 750X, but if I ever need to sharpen bits larger than 1/2" an adapter is available. I use a 118 degree setting for my bits, but wanted a 135 degree option for drilling into tool metal for making lathe tools. All in all, I would recommend Drill Doctor to anyone deciding which way to go If they have, there is a woodworking workshop.
