I've had it for 8 months now and use it for slicing potatoes (not carrots - they're too hard), chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes etc. BUT - VERY IMPORTANT - I recommend getting a glove blade guard as the food grab that comes with it doesn't work very well and will leave unwanted holes in the food. The gloves protected my hands and allowed me to fully chop or julienne most or all of the food. I made the mistake of not using the guard, even with the grapple, and almost every time I paid for it in blood.
