Review on πŸ”Œ Techkey USB WiFi Adapter 1200Mbps for PC - Mini Wireless Network Adapter USB 3.0 802.11ac with Dual Band 2.42GHz/300Mbps and 5.8GHz/866Mbps - Compatible with Desktops, Laptops - Windows XP/7/8/8.1/10, Mac OS by Talapon Blackburn

Works only when he wants.

Tried this adapter on several Mac laptops with different versions of OS X, while it "detects" the 5GHz network it won't connect, just loops. It connects to a 2.4GHz network and only loads 2 web pages depending on the connection before doing nothing else. On 2.4/5GHz combo networks, the same issue occurs when 2 pages load and then become completely unresponsive, requiring uninstall/reinstall on the USB port. Drivers were relatively easy to find as the laptops used did not have the ability to read the mini-CD provided by the manufacturer. All in all, I cannot recommend this adapter. I originally bought it hoping to connect my Linux desktop, but it won't install there at all on Elementary OS. This might be my problem, but if it works the same on Linux as it does on Mac OS X, it's essentially useless to me.

Pros
  • Security and Stability: Wireless Wi-Fi adapter, which is not usually damaged by other devices such as Bluetooth or cordless phones, promises a high-performance wireless connection, supports WEP/WAP/WPA2 secure technology.
