Use standard Windows 10 drivers, skip Realtek

After I disabled my laptop's Wi-Fi antenna and installed the Realtek drivers and utility software, I had connection issues about 20% of the time. Additionally, the Mbps reported over the internet were either slow or slowed down during testing, averaging just 100 Mbps. I removed the wireless USB adapter, uninstalled the Realtek drivers and utilities, and rebooted. I then reconnected the USB adapter to allow Windows 10 to install the Microsoft-blessed drivers. The network interfaces dialog in…

Small wireless adapter - works fine

This small wireless adapter seems to work fine on my old laptop. I was a little confused by the instructions for updating the drivers and connecting the adapter, but I followed the instructions in the brochure and it worked. When adding a profile I was given a choice of 2 networks with my network name, a 2.4GH and a 5GH. I chose the name 5 GH and saved it. I thought maybe I should add 2.4GH but that suggested the profile already existed. The speed has been increased from 47Mbps to over 200Mbps.

Internet speed is drastically slow

This comes with very poor instructions so I have to guess how to set up the software and get the product up and running. After 6 hours of trial and error I gave up, the download speed dropped to 6MB with an upload speed of 234MB. I bought this product to speed up internet access on my old computer. Instead, it slowed down drastically (by 90%). At some point, I keep getting error messages stating that a software or product doesn't work with my current version of Windows (8.1), even though it…

If you want ridiculous speed.

There's ultra fast speed, and then there's the speed of this little bug. I knew the AC protocol would be fast when paired with a USB 3.0 port, but my goodness, pages load literally "at the push of a button” (and I only have 200Mbps service with a standard ISP router). The only small drawback is the problem with the installation of the driver. While some people have reported that they literally plugged it in and it automatically loaded the drivers, I'm afraid that in most cases this isn't the…

Easy to set up! good for networking products

I increased my internet speed to 1000 Mbps. Suddenly I couldn't get my computer to log onto my network. The first thing I asked her was if my computer was too old. After a long chat with tech support and all sorts of trial and error, it finally dawned on him that my computer's Wi-Fi adapter might be an old protocol. Spirit. Isn't that the first thing I asked him? So I started researching how to fix the problem, only to find out that there was a ready-made solution to my problem - a USB wireless

Easy to install and easy to set up.

I upgraded my HP Windows 7 desktop computer to 10 and then tried to add an old PCI wireless card but found it was outdated. I bought this USB adapter and installed it in one of the two USB slots in the back of the computer, which is under the table. No cables or antennas protrude, making it safe from feet and pets. I think it works great and I haven't had to make any adjustments to the settings since the original install. It works fine with my Xfinity gateway and HP printer and probably no…

2 died the best in network adapters

My first died within the first hour of use. The company sent me a replacement the next day (good service). The second one died within a week so I'm sending it back and trying something else. It did a great job giving me faster internet access - many times faster than my HP laptop's card. I want this to work for me.

Extra Speed Booster

It seems that nowadays due to the coronavirus pandemic we are doing our work from home more and more, but in some cases we all need to speed things up a bit when we go online. There are so many different ways you can get it. You can always upgrade your computer, change your Internet plan, or simply buy a Wi-Fi booster. I personally recommended them because they help me a lot when I go online because my computer is faster. Technet's AC1200 adapter is simple and easily syncs with your computer to

Works only when he wants.

Tried this adapter on several Mac laptops with different versions of OS X, while it "detects" the 5GHz network it won't connect, just loops. It connects to a 2.4GHz network and only loads 2 web pages depending on the connection before doing nothing else. On 2.4/5GHz combo networks, the same issue occurs when 2 pages load and then become completely unresponsive, requiring uninstall/reinstall on the USB port. Drivers were relatively easy to find as the laptops used did not have the ability to…

Incredibly fast update!

Wow. I bought my son an Asus gaming laptop for Christmas last year. It uses a Wi-Fi connection and that was fine until recently. It simply stopped connecting to 2.4GHz and 5GHz hotspots or connected and disconnected. Our ISP has 100Mbps bandwidth and often reached 70-80Mbps when connected, but it was difficult to access different parts of our home. When his Wi-Fi connection dropped, I thought maybe his internal Wi-Fi adapter was failing. I was right. After researching various USB adapters, I…
