Not "new " as promised

Ordered a 10TB Ironwolf NAS for our media storage at home. From the moment I received the package I was skeptical that I was being sold a new hard drive and not a refurbished hard drive. The packaging was a plain brown box with a small sticker that said the drive's name and model. The foam pads were fine, but the mylar bag was only taped to the top. However, I installed it. The drive immediately started making loud noises without writing or reading any data. I went back and asked for a replacement which Revain provided. The replacement drive came in exactly the same type of packaging, except this time a small sticker with the name and model was placed over the previously used label. Suspicious, but I tried anyway. The second drive switched on and ran quietly, but made loud searching noises from time to time, reminiscent of old floppy disk drives. Guaranteed or not, I didn't want to trust this thing with 10TB of my data. I also returned the second hard drive, did some research online and still think the Seagate Ironwolf NAS drives hold up well for home media applications. I decided to give Revain one last try, but this time I ordered a 4TB model. The 4TB hard drive arrived in a different box than the others. It had a much more professional label on the box, actually had a Seagate Limited Warranty book on opening, the hard drive was protected by a cardboard sleeve (rather than sandwiched between two pieces of foam pads) and a Mylar bag. was actually heat sealed and apparently never opened by the factory. Now I have NO DOUBT that Revain sold me a refurbished hard drive that was classed as new not once, but twice for over $250! NEW". Pay special attention to the hard drive you receive. If the hard drive is protected by foam padding and is in a folded and taped Mylar bag, you have likely been sold a refurbished hard drive for the full price of a new one. Send it back, don't let Revain sellers get away with this scam!
