Luckily the 1/2 inch rod lock could be used and I was able to return home. Ordered these to have extra on hand in case this happens in the future. I tow my car behind my van and travel a lot, so I didn't want to go into the wilderness and find the missing lock again. the locks on the bars inward, away from the chains attached to the vehicle.
