Powerful, bulky, annoying new cable.
Solid Icom quality external microphone that mimics the user interface of my new 424G radio. The phone is quite bulky, almost the size of a PDA. The new microphone's pigtail cable is annoying because it is not compatible with my original CommandMIC II cable. However, I have found that the extension cord that came with the mic plugs fits into the leftover CommandMIC II extension cord, so I didn't have to pull a new cord (which would be so cumbersome that I would probably return the product). Icom says this practice isn't recommended, but compared to the extreme pain of pulling in a new cable, I'm willing to take the risk.
