Works great no problems

Installed a few months ago, they work as expected, no better and no worse than the factory products. If you are new to changing pads, simply remove the cover completely and make sure you clean the discs very thoroughly. Start with a scraper to remove old and excess glue. Then use a degreaser and wire brush. Wipe it off with paper towels and keep rubbing. When clean, give it a few more wipes with Simple Green or another surface cleaner, then wipe with alcohol to remove any residual oil and moisture. Paper towels should be clean and free of brown or black stains. If they don't come out clean, keep brushing until they come out clean. Grills get very, very dirty so expect to spend 30-60 minutes depending on how dirty yours are and how much old caulk/glue residue there is. be left behind. It sucks, but you should only do this every 5 years or so. Installing the new pads is fairly easy, just slowly peel off the pad while pressing down on the rim. Do not remove the protective film immediately, otherwise it may stick to the side of the BGE or itself, possibly destroying it. Just slowly remove a few inches at a time. Don't stretch or squeeze, just push straight down. When you get to the end of the circle, use scissors to cut it off, but give yourself an extra inch of slack. Gradually cut off small pieces until they are just the right length. Do this very consciously because you don't want tearing or overlapping. Repeat the same for the other rim. Once they're both in place, spend a few minutes pressing them very firmly with your hands around the entire perimeter. Replace and close the cover. I prefer to soak at least 24 hours before using to give the glue time to cure. It might sound like I'm overly obsessed, but having screwed in the BGE gaskets a few times, I'm telling you all this from experience. I have had BGE for almost 20 years. I changed them 6 times and screwed up 2 of them. Surface preparation is critical for adhesion. Gaps, overlaps or damage to the adhesive can and will cause gaskets to leak or even fall off completely. Negative reviews are most likely the result of improper cleaning or knocking / stretching of gaskets. It's messy and tedious work, so get it right the first time because you won't want to do it again in a few months.
