This collector isn't the best design BUT you can change it by taking it apart (you'll need a set of screwdrivers for the tiny screws) and the top remove level and slider. This works well with parrot seeds and is not too harsh on parrots. When reassembling, make sure the middle and bottom tiers and sliders are properly aligned to allow the seeds to flow when the sliders move. I also set everything up so that the bottom layer/slider is at a 90 degree angle from the middle bottom/bottom slider. That way, all the seeds from the top chamber don't flow into the bottom chamber as soon as you add them.
