This connector wire is color coded to help you know how to attach it to the battery. The problem is that the SP 200 SOLAR CHARGER uses reverse color coding. I connected it to my bike to charge the battery as it is often left unused for weeks during the winter. I went out with my family today and my perfectly usable battery was completely dead. Not even the neutral light came on. After checking with a multimeter, I found that the solar panel was putting out enough voltage, but the red end was actually negative and the black was positive. Needless to say I now have to buy a new expensive battery. I'm not a happy buyer.
