This mount is ideal for non-sea environments. It's strong, durable, and features multiple mounting hole options. My fire extinguisher is about 5.25 inches in diameter and weighs 17 pounds. Unfortunately I bought it to use on the deck of my pontoon boat (large commercial boat, 35ft x 10ft). With the splatters and splashes I get from salt water it has deteriorated to the point where it needs to be replaced after 1 year. The main body of the bracket is fine, but the latch and latch are rusted and tired from work. I'm sure it will work well in conditions other than salt water.
