Review on πŸ”Œ Hopkins FloTool 10704 Measu-Funnel with On/Off Spout: Efficient and Convenient Black Funnel by John Maskirta

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good design could be better though.

Functions work as they should. I really liked the gradations, especially since there is a valve to stop the flow. The cover was useful too. It was windy when I topped up my gear so I actually put it on to keep the holiday from getting into my fresh fluid. She took off a star because the tubing had a tendency to twist which was annoying. The last thing you need is a flow restriction in the funnel. Also for me the bottom plug/nozzle was useless. This prevented me from inserting the hose all the way into the transmission fill hole. The cap is attached to it so you can put the hose in farthest where the cap is "down" on the port inlet. This stupid thing actually drained fluid from my transmission back into the oil pan along the cap release strap. After the first quart I weaned it completely. Even if you stop filling, you're still using the top valve. Others may not have this problem, but on my car, where there was an open spot to install the flare funnel, the hose had to go further into my transmission. The hose might have been a bit long, but why would I cut the length of the hose? Everyone, for such money, excellent. But a slightly stiffer hose and a better bottom plug to slip over the hose without a nozzle makes this thing that much better. You can work around the shortcomings, but the top valve is really good. That way you can find a spot to rest the filled cap (the extra weight will stabilize it) then you can adjust the fill port before returning to the bell valve to drain the liquid. Then, when the case is full, close the valve and drain the liquid from them into the sump. What remains in the cap can simply be poured back into the liter bottle.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Weight
