This cheese slicer is of a much higher quality than what is sold in most shops. It's made in the Netherlands where they really know their cheese, it's a solid very sharp slice with a metal handle. Unlike models with a wooden handle, it can be washed in the dishwasher without side effects. The handle and blade are noticeably sharper than other cheese slicers of this type. The edge that actually cuts through the cheese is very sharp and requires almost no pressure to pull across the cheese. Even fairly hard cheeses like Jarlsberg cut easily without the tedious bending, pulling, and pulling that other hard cheese slicers require. placing on a cheese board in the presence of guests is so nice. I recommend this food slicer, but it costs a little more. It lasts much longer and is great for slicing cheese.
