The heat gun tip posted by another reviewer worked great and provided a precise custom fit. The narrow end of the adapter is too small to fit over the dust outlet that a dust bag would normally hold, but which can only hold as much as needed before needing to be emptied. Dewalt's custom size exhaust port makes it difficult to find a vacuum connection. Every plug I tried was either too big or too small. Heating the narrow end of the thick plastic adapter in this kit with a heat gun set on low softens the plastic just enough to slide over the outlet port like stretchy jeans. If the adapter is left on the cooling connector for a few minutes, the inner diameter of the plastic will harden to the exact size and form a perfect connection.
