Definitely not plug and play on Mac and no clear instructions are given.

The MacBook Air was definitely not plug and play. Luckily I'm a bit computer savvy so I figured out the setup in half an hour of fiddling around. But first let me say that my MacBook is a bit old (a few years for example) so I definitely had to install the driver manually. Unfortunately, you still have to set up the driver yourself after installing it, and TP-Link didn't provide clear enough instructions. So if you're using a Mac like me, first install the drivers over WiFi (DO NOT LEAVE HOME). WITHOUT INSTALLATION OR IT WILL NOT WORK!). Then, after your computer boots up, make sure the dongle is connected to an ethernet connection, otherwise it won't work! Then click on your WiFi at the top and open the network settings. That's pretty much the point where TP-Link hasn't given any instructions. You need to go to the bottom of the list and click the "+" sign to add them. After that, find the key in the list and add it. The rest you have to configure according to your network. Your computer should then connect. I'm deducting 2 stars because TP-Link didn't give clear enough instructions and it wasn't plug and play.

Pros
  • From a trusted brand: TP Link #1 in the world? Ranked #1 in WiFi products for the last 7 years in a row by IDC. In 2017.
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
