The hardest part was finding an opener that was compatible with my garage door. I have a Python engine (installed in 1998) and the opener I replaced was a Type 1 top door ACSCTO model. It literally took me longer to get a ladder out of the kitchen than it took to install two of these openers, which was a relief when my neighbor said her husband and son (both very skilled) were afraid to make a new knife. To do this, I simply stood on a ladder, opened the engine cover, pressed the learn button (not labeled but just below the red light mentioned in the opener instructions), double clicked the opener button I wanted to program and it worked like magic! After about 10 seconds I had both new openers installed and working. I just drove out to check the range and they were working down my street. I'm not good with distances but this was in 7 big houses which is way further than my old explorer worked. It may have worked even remotely, but I was so satisfied that I didn't even think to try it. I am very happy with this purchase and the price was lower than other openers I looked at!
