DO NOT BUY THIS "EMERGENCY TOOL"! IF YOU COUNT ON SAVING YOUR LIFE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED! Ie dead! I'm an auto mechanic and I work in the auto recycling industry and I have to break car windows every six months. I used a Lifehammer emergency hammer, which works great to break through toughened safety glass almost effortlessly. I decided to try this one just because it was cheap. When it arrived I tried to smash the side window of a 2000 Chevy truck. I tried a quick, gentle tap first, and that's all the Lifehammer needs. Nothing. I tried banging the window harder and harder and nothing worked. After four or five hits I examined the tip and saw that it was flattened! To break protective glass, you need a tool with a harder Mohs hardness than glass. That's why the Lifehammer uses porcelain spark plugs and hardened steel. This product is cheaply assembled from cheap steel and cheap plastic. In addition, the handle is bulky and not ergonomic. a knife with a cut in the handle for cutting seat belts. I'm compelled to write this review because people buy this product with the impression that it will help them save their lives in an emergency. It does not work and will not save your life or that of your children! Spend ten bucks more on a LifeHammer brand tool because saving ten bucks won't matter if you die!
