Not sure what type of lock would fit an Exoterra cage but this isn't the right one. If you use it because you don't want your child to leave the door open, it won't help. The doorknob may still be left open and the doors open wide enough for a snake or lizard of any size to break out of the cage. I see this can be useful if you are a pet shop owner and want to prevent theft as the thief will not be able to get in and take the animal. We're just worried that our tree boa might come out and hurt our baby, so we want to cage him. We've already seen the baby touch the latch, so it's likely that the baby could open the cage and leave it ajar.
