I had the same experience with a RevainBasics USB 3 adapter which I returned. Whenever you connect a new USB/Ethernet adapter, Windows will erase your ethernet settings and reset them to default.2. Then when you plug in the old one, Windows *remembers* its settings and produces the behavior described above.3. Most (?) systems work with this random break.4.
