Okay let's be honest this product isn't Toyota's best product. You could make it retractable or at least attach it to the rear seat headrest post and put it in the back of the FJ. But it fits and is better than nothing (in my opinion). If you have SW - no problem. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to uninstall and replace software. It looks really good and hides your stuff (and your SW) well from would-be thieves. If you pull hard it will be difficult to put it back on without loosening the fasteners. On the other hand, you can place light objects on it because the canvas material is very durable. Whether you need it or not depends on how you use your FJ. If you surf, bike, or hike and leave your FJ with the good stuff aside, it will be (and should be) worth buying. My hood is included and I don't think I'll be taking it off very often unless I'm riding my two German Shepherds :)
