I've already sat in the chair to take the old switch apart and see if it could be salvaged (spoiler alert, obviously I couldn't so I'm considering me again). When this happened it took less than 5 minutes to come back and do the exchange. Very simple, and now my seat slides back. Note that my old switch's trim matches this one as well. To make sure everything matched, I just reused them.
