The previous reviewer returned the product a month or two ago saying it was too difficult and time consuming to photograph coins. Well, he just sent a very nice, very useful product. I tried several cameras/microscopes before purchasing this one in October 2018. Since then I've been using it successfully. It and the software are great for coins - with one exception - the "chrome tube" that the microscope slides up and down. TOO SHORT. I usually have to raise it 5 inches (+/-) depending on the diameter of the coin I'm photographing and how big I want the resulting photo to be. I usually put it on a table and place the coin on the table about 5 inches below the table. Now all I have to do is adjust the "tube" height and magnification, first using the "-" <--> "+" wheel on the scope body, then fine tune the focus with the wheel on the side of the black plastic part the tube slides up and down. Once set up, I can fly through photos - BECAUSE. I've been thinking what to do. See attached photos. As for the speed, see the two attached photos of the 1963 neighborhood which have been useful for this report. I took both shots in 22 seconds. Twenty-two seconds isn't fast enough? That is for me. To speed things up I made a coin holder for the table by cutting out a "V" on a piece of cardboard that I taped down with blue painters tape. Now all I have to do is insert a coin into the V-slot until the coin stops (making the V-slot wide enough to accommodate coins of different diameters). I painted the top of the cardboard and all edges of the V-notch with a broad tip with black marker to match the black of the countertop. This makes photographing a lot quicker as you don't have to mess with positioning the coins much - just slide them all the way in and twist to align. Another comment posted by the reviewer in error is that the light cannot be adjusted. Surely you can - just adjust the dial I mentioned earlier. Sometimes people just don't spend enough time using a product and then start thinking about how they can improve on what THEY want to achieve.
