We bought these to replace the original hinges on the doors in our home which are aging and fading. I was looking for polished brass but the price of satin brass hinges was too good to pass up. I picked up a polished brass hinge (one) from Ace Hardware to check before ordering and the price was $5.99 for just one hinge. Of course, these satin bows are lighter than the Ace product, but they are the same. just like the ones we're replacing that have lasted 35 years. The screws on these hinges are plated with polished brass, giving the whole hinge a slightly shinier effect. We bought enough to make fifteen doors.
