Sometimes price isn't everything

The promise and premise of this product is that it is a 9-in-1 powered USB hub (USB-C PD). It's actually 6-in-1, but they consider each USB port as a function. I bought this to expand my PC's three USB-C ports to give me USB-A ports, an Ethernet connection and an HDMI output. I was also looking for a USB-C network connection for my Google Chromecast with Google TV. If that works well, I would buy another one. It didn't work on any application. The device looks and feels solid, with a green LED on top that lights up when connected to USB-C via the male or female connector. Ports aren't well-aligned to the rear, so while they appear substantial, the build quality is questionable. For Google TV, an Ethernet port is recognized and offers connectivity, but the included headphone jack becomes audio output, and Google Chromecast doesn't offer a way to change audio output to HDMI instead of audio output from a hub. The LEDs on the Ethernet port do not light up when connected to a device, regardless of whether the hub is powered or not. It offers enough bandwidth for the Ethernet port. I've attached a screenshot of the Windows 10 notification that pops up every time this device is connected to a Windows 10 PC. No other USB-C hubs on the same PC are reporting this issue. It transmits HDMI at 4k 30Hz. It is excellent. USB-A 3.0 ports work intermittently, lose connectivity, and sometimes prevent the PC from identifying and recognizing devices connected through a hub.
