I got this because I adopted a kitten that got herpes. By the time we found out why he always sneezes like that, he had already given it to two other kittens, so everyone had it. At first we gave them lysine gum specially made for cats, but it's hard to find one that all three would like. Not only that, we had to switch her diet to chicken, beef, and wheat (for herpes prevention) and I couldn't find a chewable lysine that didn't contain some form of chicken. Then I decided to give it a try. Based on dosages given by the veterinarian, two kittens on prophylactic status are given 1/2 tiny scoop per day. Monkey, my sick kitty, is on 1 scoop per day (that's 1000mg) so I'm giving it to him in 2 doses. Any less and he'll get sick again. This is the only lysine that worked! The other two stopped sneezing immediately and have not sneezed again, and my monkey no longer shoots snot rockets all over the house! It takes very little to prepare a daily dose and is therefore easy to mix with wet food. There's absolutely no flavor or texture, so they can't tell. Even my picky girlfriend can't tell. I know. Tried it in my coffee the first day we got it. After all, this is for the people! And the best part. There is a huge bathtub! This is by far the best lysine level for cats/pets. Now I feel stupid for buying all these little bags of goodies. Rschunimagu
