As an electrical and mechanic I value my tools. Ever since I discovered Knipex tools, I've been a fan of them! At first I only took them to be able to cut larger diameter wire than the smaller diameter wire cutters I carry around. The cut is so nice and clean that I often use them to cut pneumatic hoses. But the real price is how I can abuse them. As part of my job, I often have to install air ducts for hot air drying systems or UV curing systems. These hoses range in diameter from 3" to 8" and are usually made of rubber or fabric with coiled steel wire supporting them. I need to cut these hoses to length which consists of cutting the hose with a very sharp knife and then cutting through the steel wire. I've used a variety of tools to do this over the years. But I found that these wire cutters cut through that steel wire with little effort and the jaws stay in good shape despite my bullying. I left a few of these at a customer's factory and when I came back they said they were gone. she saw! So now someone has a good side cutter. and I have ordered 2 more to replace them. The worst thing about buying? While searching, I noticed a few other Knipex tools that should also be in my tool box!
