Review on πŸŽ₯ ATEM Mini Pro HDMI Live Stream Switcher by Blackmagic Design by Mike Mitchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a great little HDMI switch

I didn't know what to expect as this was my first experience with an HDMI switch. I'm happy! Blackmagic Design ATEM interface with a computer is almost essential to access all features. I would recommend it. We thought we would use Ethernet to connect directly to Facebook Live, but that didn't work. To find out how to do this, you'll need to look outside of Blackmagic Design Support. Instead, we opted for the Resi streaming service. We connect our ATEM Mini Pro to the Blackmagic Design Streaming Bridge with an Ethernet cable to access another HDMI output for the "program" output. This frees up the ATEM MIni Pro's HDMI output for multi-viewing. We use the USB 3.0 output to communicate with a laptop that has the control software installed. The audio is easy to use and you also get access to the built-in audio coming from your camcorders. We have three different classes of camcorders, all of which sync perfectly and look great. Using the dongles requires some training, but there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube for this device. For a small multi-camera setup, this switch is what you need. So far we are very satisfied.

Pros
  • H.264 direct recording to USB sticks
Cons
  • Clarity
