Review on πŸ’» ICZI Powered USB 3.0 Hub: 7-Port Splitter with 5V/4A Power Adapter for Laptop, Desktop PC, and More (Black) by Bernard Larjin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not compatible with Raspberry PI 4, the hub has poor power management

The hub is thin and works when transferring data, I will give it to him. However, they have cut corners in the power structure and it shows. There is NO reflux diode on your computer's USB port for +5V and GND. This means that the power lines of the USB cable can short out to your computer when you connect its power adapter. This shouldn't happen, most computers are protected against this (note that this is a protection against bad design), but simpler devices like the Raspberry Pi 4 are not. This means that when you turn on the USB hub and plug it into your Raspberry Pi 4, the Pi will not boot up. It's just bad design.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
