The description is misleading.

They are not new and are not covered under WD's warranty. They have not been used but were manufactured February 2012 and are OEM units so WD will not cover them if something goes wrong. Due to the price and the fact that they are WD drives I kept them and used them in the DVR. WESTERN DIGITAL AV 500GB 8MB SATA2 3.5" Cache Hard Drive (For Surveillance DVR, Cool, Quiet & Reliable) - Comes with 1 Year Warranty
