A good hard drive doesn't have to be expensive. I bought this for my old laptop to replace a hard drive that was too small. I put the new drive in the adapter and connected it to the USB port, then cloned the old drive to the new one and replaced it. It took a while but I didn't lose any data. Now the computer is much faster. The new hard drive is thinner than the old one, so during installation you will need to align the computer to fit the connector. Otherwise he is perfect. This drive runs at 5400 RPM. Some drives run faster but run hotter and use more battery power. Keep this in mind when battery performance is more important than driving speed. This one is fast enough.
