Review on Hromee Air Compressor Filter Regulator Combo Kit - 1/2 Inch With Pressure Gauge, Semi-Auto Drain, Water & Oil Trap Separator, And Bracket For Improved Performance And Efficiency by Flex Morgan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No User Manual Included

Seems to be a fairly well made unit but came with no literature whatsoever. Fortunately, there is a short video on the revain Product Page that shows a bit about how to take it apart anyway. The Hromee website has no information. I guess they figure most people who purchase something like this are mechanical enough to figure it out on there own. Here's a bit of a head start for all you mechanical folks. To remove the bowls you slide down the black plastic lock on the front of the cage, rotate the cage counterclockwise and pull it down to release it. The clear plastic bowls can then be removed by wobbling them a bit and then pulling them straight down. These are sealed in place with a rubber o-ring.Tool oil is added by removing the black plastic Allen plug directly above the oil bowl. Max and min oil levels are indicated by the lines on the side of the bowl. Oil flow rate is controlled by turning the black thumb screw on the top of the oil bowl. The semi automatic water draining is accomplished by shutting off the pressure to the unit.

Pros
  • I needed something to keep the water out of my tools. This works perfect on my craftsman air compressor.
Cons
  • The bracket may not be durable and could break during use

Appears to be good quality, but having trouble getting it to stop leaking. Not returning it because too much hassle disassembling the system to remove it. Instead installed shutoff valve upstream of it so compressor won’t cycle when not needed
