Review on πŸ“Έ Breaking Boundaries: Sigma 24-35mm F2.0 Art DG HSM Lens Revolutionizes Nikon Photography by Sherrie Webb

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very useful addition.

So far this is a five star lens in my opinion. Bought the Nikon version. I just got it last week and have already taken some shots with my Nikon D700 and am still waiting to test it on my D810 which I'm sure will really blow my mind (it already has)!. I've attached some photos I took, some on the F11 stopped in town and some wide open, all on my D700. Many more photos will be posted over time, please see the comments section for a link to my Sigma 24-35 photo album. They were edited to my liking in Lightroom/Photoshop, nothing an amateur couldn't do in less than five minutes. This is a heavy lens, but not too heavy. If you have a 24-70 with stabilization or a 24-120 it's about that size and weight. About the same size and weight as the Sigma 24-105 f/4 Art (which I also own). I only bought this lens because I needed these focal lengths for landscapes, streets, concerts, settings, weddings, events and general lounging. I wanted nice bokeh and a slightly larger aperture than standard zoom. I was hoping it would make a good lens for astrophotography, but found a review that said it was a . but there are many coma (stars stripes) on the photos. I'll have to try that and come back to this comment when I'm out of town at some point (I have to drive at least two hours). Not that it would have been my main lens or even my fifth lens with this lens. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the guy who gave two stars because of the zoom rotation, come on! In any case, the zoom is not that great! Another commented on the bokeh saying it was "Zeiss Like", which I don't think is far from the truth. Sure, it's not a 35mm 1.4 Art or a 24mm 1.4, but for the price and performance I find it unbeatable if it fits what you're looking for. Also, I would look at the price. I just seriously looked and was hesitant to pull the trigger on another $999 lens. A day or two later, a $799 one-day sale took place and the deal was sealed. Now that I have it, I'd say it's definitely worth the big ones. It's the icing on the cake if you can wait and find it cheaper. There is no weather protection on the lens. There is no stabilization either. Not that it needed any sort of stabilization, which at these focal lengths and the widest possible aperture would make it intolerable and unnecessary. My practice shots were accurate without the micro-tuning needed for my D700. I just unpacked it and put the camera where it was. It comes in a decent nylon pouch. Landscape, Weddings, Events, Children, Street, General Photography. Sharpness, bokeh and distortion (no), fast autofocus, physical montage, unique zoom (F / 2). I don't think you can go wrong. I highly recommend it.
