Review on Mishimoto MMAI-ACRD20-18 Black Performance Air Intake for Honda Accord 2.0T 2018+: Enhanced Performance and Style by Adrian Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Outstanding quality and fit

Advantages: Increased throttle response, turbo noise, very good construction with high-quality components. The plastic box helps avoid overheating compared to metal used in other applications like the Civic Si. Cons: Installation is usually simple and straightforward, but with some caveats. In Mishimoto's installation video, removing the stock airbox bottom looks easy. It is not. You definitely need to use both agility and brute force. Pay close attention to how it is done in the installation video, especially at what angle you need to manipulate the box. it will come out, and despite what some people are saying on the forums, you don't need to remove the wiring harness next to the battery that gets in the way. The second difficulty is installing the mass air flow tube, filter and silicone hose in the correct position. Pay close attention to how the MAF tube rests against the side of the airbox as it meets the filter. Failure to install the assembly in the correct position may create a gap where the airflow tube meets the airbox, allowing hot air to be drawn into the airbox. Just take your time and relax until you find the right position. Overall I've found that I'm losing torque in the lower rpm range and maybe a little more in the upper rpm range. Throttle response improved slightly, as did fuel economy. To be honest it's probably better to use the panel filter in the stock airbox on this 2.0T Accord or use it in conjunction with a tune to maximize application.

Pros
  • Air intake
Cons
  • So far so good
