Review on Rousseau 3509 9 Inch 12 Inch 8 Inch by Hector Szymczak

The bow is a fun idea

The material used is solid, the assembly is excellent. The onion is what absolutely kills it for me. Like some of us hobby carpenters, it took me a while to get this installed on my router table. I was aware of the intentional bend but optimistic that the router's weight would straighten it out. It wasn't like that. Not in the slightest. My Bosch 1617ESVPK router isn't the lightest. You'll probably need at least 20-30 pounds of thrust to get it into semi-flat condition. To make matters worse, this no longer makes the fence 90°, but rather when the fence is not attached to the T-track, it swings diagonally from left to right. So now I have to sew the fence with a couple of quarters. So, it's been more than 3 months since the purchase - I don't think there's a chance of a return, apart from the fact that I've already drilled holes for the screws. Basically I ran out of $35, need to spend materials to redesign the countertop and buy a new router bit for $60. Just play it safe, pay extra, get Kreg and avoid the hassle of redesigning everything.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
