Perfect for my 03 Explorer 4.6 4WD. The installation didn't go too bad. Drain coolant. Remove the 4 clips holding the airflow guide under the heatsink to make room. Remove the oil filter and oil filter drain pan. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Change your oil while you're there. Using some simple tools, remove the 4 screws holding it in place. No long extensions are required. As far as I remember, only extension cords are 3 and 6 inches long. The gasket looked almost identical to the original Ford gasket flattened in two oil holes. Assemble and fill with coolant. Check the coolant level again for several days in cold weather, as this system takes time to fill up completely. While you're there, carefully inspect the wiring harness that runs just behind the oil filter and above the oil shield. They have a known issue where the wiring harness rubs against the oil drain pan and cuts through the wiring harness. This can chew a few wires in half. There's oil pressure, an A/C compressor clutch and a battery cable, maybe 1 or 2 more (I forgot). Mine had the positive wire cut through the jacket and was about to cut the copper wire when I found this. I heard about this problem on the explorer forum and checked mine and indeed it was the problem. Now it's time to fix it. It's only been a few days, but so far so good. Since no drop. Finally I have a clean street again!
