Review on DB Electrical AND0187 Alternator 13754 by Leonard Babers

Update: Alternator failed after 2 years. I downgraded my rating to 2 stars because I think the alternator should last a lot longer (at least it should last longer than the battery). hard these days. I felt that the warranty should be much longer than 1 year to give confidence in the companies ability to design a durable product that meets OEM specs. Original Review: I don't usually have time to write reviews but was inclined to share my opinion on this generator (sold to me by DB Electrical) 1) You see the picture, that's exactly what you get. The generator looks so good in person. The silver pulley really shines and the overall build quality seems better than the original pulley I removed from the car. While looks alone might not get your wheels spinning, it's still a grand gesture. 2) Installation. In fact, it has very little to do with the generator itself and more to do with the car. However, they contained a wire connecting screw (as you can see in the picture) which can streak or corrode over time. 3) Delivery. 10/10, ordered Friday afternoon, received Saturday morning. (with one day delivery and accommodation in a major city > 200 miles from their warehouse). Well packed with airbags and bubble wrap. Always a plus when first class delivery is offered. 4) It is NEW. Autozone, O'Reilly's, NAPA, Advanced, etc. None of them offer a new generator. Most of them have only one brand and they are all renovated. Even if I didn't buy it for my classic car, new in auto parts = most likely later restorable (when the part is no longer commercially available). New is: new. Refurbished: once (or more) broken and once (or more) disassembled. 5) Have a look around, you'll quickly see that the above places are charging double the price for this new one. Oh, and did I mention they're renovated. As a student I try to save money and it goes beyond that. It's just common sense. I've had this generator running for about two weeks and it works great. If anything changes I will update it. (Which I did) If not, then I know who I will continue to buy auto parts from in the future.
