DB Electrical AND0187 Alternator 13754 Review

This brand new alternator is very well priced but don't let that put you off. The quality of the alternator is superb and the unit closely mimics the original ND alternator that was installed on my Camry. The box even included a full diagnostic printout showing the unit's amperage at specific RPMs and other QA/QC data. I would buy from DB Electric again and recommend this supplier to others looking for quality without sacrificing their bank account.

I have been a car mechanic for 10 years. I'm used to the low quality remanufactured units in Mexico that we can get at any auto parts store. It's nice to get a part that's not only $80 cheaper than MY alternator, it's new equipment and not a rebuilt crap. It came in like a charm, firing up to a 14.6v charge and claiming a 10-second charge of 100 amps without whining or dropping too much revs. If you have to drill something, do it too. not correct.

Very easy to install, took 30 minutes. Ignore the people mentioning loops and loops to make this fit. All you have to do is tap the gasket back out on the alternator to widen the bracket hole. I used an offset pry bar and a hammer to pry out the gasket on the alternator bracket - 2 hits did the trick. Alternator engaged, tightened, ideal output voltage of 14.5 volts in the test. Installed on my 2000 Camry after my old one stopped working. Fits perfectly. Seems to be working correctly. The wiring harness bracket must be removed from the old generator and installed on the new one. Everything else is included. My old alternator was rated at 80 amps. This is rated at 90 amps. Update: Alternator failed after 2 years. I downgraded my rating to 2 stars because I think the alternator should last a lot longer (at least it should last longer than the battery). hard these days. I felt that the warranty should be much longer than 1 year to give confidence in the companies ability to design a durable product that meets OEM specs.
