Although these gloves were not made for water skiing slalom I used them for that and was very satisfied. I find most water ski gloves too thick, bunch up in the palm and have too many velcro closures. Of course I am not an avid skier and they may not be able to handle harder skiing but they are great for me. Having searched for so long and tried so many different pairs, I just ordered a "backup" pair of these. I'm an average height woman and thought I would go with Small but ended up changing it to X-Small.
