Review on πŸ“Ά ASUS AC1750 Mesh WiFi System (Lyra Trio 3PK) - Whole Home Coverage up to 5,400 sq.ft & 6+ Rooms, Alexa Compatible, AiMesh Support, Free Lifetime Internet Security, Parental Control by Dave Seawell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for extending Wi-Fi coverage in medium/large homes at a reasonable price. Has several disadvantages.

I bought the Lyra Trio to extend the range of my 5,000 square foot two story home with a basement. I have an Asus RT-AX88U Wifi 6 router which is not enough. At $260 for a mesh wifi system 5 out of 3 units it's a reasonable price, good for home use but not perfect. Advantages: - Each device can be both a router and a satellite node. You can separate blocks for different subnets if you like. With multiple devices, you can have different devices performing different functions on different subnets, e.g. B. act as a Lyra mesh, AiMesh or as a hotspot. It is a very flexible and extensible system. $87 for a router/satellite device is a good price for nice Asus features like AiProtection and AiMesh. Excellent for creating a secure segmented home network system with 3 routers, many of which are used to create segmented subnets to separate my less secure IoT devices from my personal devices with personal data. 3 small unobtrusive devices can take up a lot of space in a longhouse or 3 stories - Easy setup for those who aren't tech savvy, but also has a few extra features for those who are tech savvy. I like Asus networking products because they offer a lot of customization options to the user who wants to tweak the settings. Cons: - Don't expect really long ranges, especially through walls. - No dedicated Wi-Fi range for backhaul. So, sharing the backhaul and forward routes on the same bands means that the wireless mesh is sometimes not as good as a wired Ethernet backhaul between devices. - The guest network is only available on the 2.4 GHz band. Not great if I want to isolate my 4K streaming TV from my private network. And even with an Ethernet backhaul, the guest network is slow, especially download speeds. AiMesh still doesn't even support guest network broadcasts from satellite nodes, only the main router. Asus should have fixed that a long time ago. Good luck trying to get really helpful help from Asus Tech Support for these issues.
