So it looks like someone poured molten lead into the walls of my apartment because a nice, plentiful Bacchic cornucopia of wireless waves is available in about 72.3% of the living space , and otherwise dead zone. The building dates from the 1920's so there is one place and one place only to plug in the router. My computer couldn't get a signal in my bedroom. I ran a 100ft ethernet cable through doors along the walls through the hallways and it worked until I closed the door and crushed the cable. So I figured my computer had some kind of budget Wi-Fi antenna tucked under the Enter key and an external one might work better. I got one and it was like going from dying in the desert to dying alone in the desert but with the mirage of an oasis. I knew I needed big guns. I think. I took these bad boys, removed the antennas from the adapter I just bought and plugged these in. Have you seen Bernini's sculpture The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa? This is a reasonable approximation of when Wi-Fi finally worked. However, since they are so bulky, there is a problem. Wi-Fi adapter cables are the worst lengths. Like four inches. Chatting unreliably. So in testing, I made my fourth purchase from Amazon, bought a USB extender and mount, and attached the adapter to the wall. WiFi works now. And I can rest
