Review on πŸ—ΊοΈ Enhanced Garmin Etrex Legend GPS Receiver by Jeffrey Sanders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Average everyday user

. I hike, stow, canoe, and mountain bike and this device fills all of those needs. It's accurate enough to meet my needs, and it's easy to transfer to and from computer mapping programs with the included PC cable. I also have a venture that my 5 year old son uses (yes it has easy to use features) and I can honestly say they are great for both outdoor activities and those who travel a lot. Here's what it can do: Take a walk or bike ride, transfer each step back to your PC mapping software to show off your adventure; You want to know your average walking speed, how long you stopped and how far you walked, he will; Look for a specific place, such as a restaurant, mall or business meeting point, find its coordinates with a computer mapping program, connect it to a GPS navigator and let it guide you. want an accurate speedometer and altimeter, he will do it; You want accurate clocks, moon phases and a calendar of best fishing times, it will do; traveling with children and they keep asking "Are we there yet?", with this device you can tell them how long and how far away you are from there; If you get lost and need to go back or seek help, he can give you enough information to potentially save your life and find a way out. There is now a clear set of location issues affecting accuracy, but for the most part (95% of the time) it will find and maintain contact with the necessary satellites to provide accurate information. It takes practice to use these features, but if you can set up and program the VCR you should have no trouble understanding the Legend's features and functions. If you ride a bike, a handlebar mount is a must.
