Difficult to use in colanders and food colanders

I was happy to find a hemp nut milk carton after my old nylon bag (which I loved) was gnawed at by critters. This bag is so big and sturdy I had a hard time using it for my regular recipe, which only makes 3 cups of nut milk. The mesh is so thin that the milk doesn't pass through the bag without much effort, it doesn't even drip under gravity. When I tried to squeeze it I got little squirts of milk all over my arms, arms, counter etc. What used to be a quick and easy 10 minute job to make a batch of delicious nut milk now takes about half an hour and very frustrating. I'm going back to my old bag style.
