Review on πŸ–₯️ Shuttle XPC Slim DS10U: Mini Fanless Barebone PC with Intel Celeron 4205U, Embedded, No Ram, No HDD/SSD, No OS by Dee Parson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The DS77U3 is a very nice, quiet, small form factor PC.

Considering that you can just add 2400x speed storage and an NVMe M.2 card, you're running at a pretty decent speed overall. If you're looking for a fast yet affordable drive, look no further than the Corsair MP300. Although "only" 2-lane PCI, it still outperforms the best SATA SSDs. Note that some of the 4 lane NVMe drives show up as unrecognized in the BIOS. But as long as you have an M.2 slot configured for PCIe mode and the boot type is set to UEFI, Windows can see the drive. (Weird, confusing, but that was my experience with BIOS 1.08, which is the latest at the moment.) I love the fanless form factor.

Pros
  • 2x 260-pin dual lane DDR4 SODIMM sockets, 16GB per DIMM (32GB max).
Cons
  • Very expensive
