I like the color range and the thickness is just right for my book bindings, but the thread seems to be dipped in a color that bleeds or is applied unevenly. Its spots look whitish, which can also be a waxy coating. I really do not know it. I don't mind a worn, shabby look, but if you're expecting a solid or uniform color, this product may not be what you're looking for. It's very good value if you know what to expect and don't mind. I pull it pretty tight and it's strong.
